Our Valencian Apartment
Rob & Carline
When we first arrived in Valencia in 2021, this 175 m² apartment was completely empty, no lighting, no kitchen appliances and no furniture. Deciding to rent it was a leap of faith, especially as it was the very first apartment we visited in the city.
Over the following years, the space slowly evolved into our home. By combining newly sourced pieces with inherited furniture and respecting the classical character of the apartment, we created a layered interior that blends old and new while remaining true to the spirit of the building.

Project Highlights

Designing Within the Limits of a Rental
As the apartment was rented, all interventions had to remain reversible. Every design decision was made with care, ensuring that the space could eventually be returned to its original condition while still creating a fully personal and functional home.
A Dialogue Between Old and New
The apartment already featured beautiful classical elements such as original floors, doors and proportions. By introducing modern furniture alongside inherited pieces, a balanced interior emerged where contemporary design and historical character complement each other.
Flexible Custom Solutions
To enhance the living room without altering the architecture, two cabinet structures were designed to appear built-in while remaining fully removable. This allowed the room to gain storage, symmetry and visual depth without making permanent structural changes.
