The Ruzafa Restoration
Justin & Miikka
This 92 m² apartment in Valencia’s vibrant Ruzafa district required a complete renovation while preserving its historical character. The original Nolla tile flooring became the starting point of the design, guiding the restoration and the overall atmosphere of the home.
By carefully reworking the layout, relocating the kitchen and restoring architectural elements such as the existing archway, the apartment was transformed into a warm and functional second home. The result is a space where historic details, thoughtful design and modern comfort come together seamlessly.

Project Highlights

Preserving the Original Nolla Floor
One of the apartment’s most valuable features was the original Nolla tile flooring. To preserve this historic element, technical installations were carefully rerouted through the ceiling. Large sections of the floor were restored by hand, allowing the character of the building to remain at the heart of the project.
A Complete Layout Transformation
The apartment’s layout was completely reimagined to create a logical and comfortable living experience. The kitchen was relocated, the terrace expanded to become a truly usable outdoor space, and new functions were introduced including two bedrooms, a home office, a bathroom and a separate guest toilet.
Craftsmanship & Custom Design
Throughout the renovation, custom solutions and carefully selected materials played a key role. Lighting was seamlessly integrated into the ceiling and TV wall, bespoke elements were introduced, and a new balcony railing was custom-designed. The project was realised together with trusted partners, combining craftsmanship with precise execution.
